Our unique DATS Curriculum is based on what practicing dentists have told us they want in an efficient dental assistant. Curriculum also follows most state guidelines. Subject matter includes terminology, equipment, study models, amalgams, radiology, darkroom skills, OSHA rules, 4-handed dentistry, crown and bridge, anesthesia, oral surgery, and more. The lecture portion is taught using
DVD illustrations. Instructors lecture from corresponding notes to ensure consistency, quality, and efficient teaching.
What makes the DATS program unique is that students learn hands-on skills they need to be productive and successful the first day on the job. The curriculum includes ample time for hands-on practice in all areas of a dental office. Students gain experience while going to school!
Rapid Progress from the Classroom to the Workplace
The DATS Dental Assistant curriculum is 72 hours in length. There are
eighteen modules offered within an 9-week time frame. Each module includes approximately one hour of lecture followed by three hours of operatory time.
At less than $40 per hour in just 9 weeks, the DATS program produces
a trained entry level dental assistant and costs far less than other
dental assistant training programs. There are no wasted hours on
subjects that will not be used on the job.
